Hiding and Watching

Hiding and watching
And nodding away
Through the hourglass thoughts
Of an hourglass day

As the white sands caress me
My thoughts trickle down
To the whisper-wood wilds
Of some shadow-side town

And I think of my child
And I miss her like breath
Oh, I knew she would leave
But it hurts like a death

I’m just hiding and watching
And nodding away
Through the hourglass thoughts
Of an hourglass day

In the rainshine and sunfall
Of a fathomless world
I exist in the kiss
Of a lamplighter girl

But then dust swirls around me
And it weaves through my stars
And the wild wolves sing
In that place where you are

So I’m hiding and watching
It’s all I can do
In this season of dreams
As I’m dreaming of you
