Paul Allen and the M/Y Tatoosh

Billionaire Tom Perkins is upset. So upset, in fact, that he compared the prospect of the super-wealthy having to pay more taxes to Kristallnacht, the night when fascists destroyed Jewish businesses and kicked off the holocaust in Nazi Germany. Oh, the horror!

Ann Coulter is upset as well, about “smelly homeless people stinking up the libraries.”

The homeless people camping outside the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City were upset when the museum’s high powered sprinklers were turned on them in the sub-freezing morning temperatures of February 28th, 2020. They were camping there because the city has bulldozed its shelter, which held 1,100, despite the fact that the replacement facilities only held 700. The temporary shelter that added 145 more beds was full, so they little choice but to find somewhere to camp. Before the sprinklers were shut off, their belongings were soaked and many of them had wet hair, which then froze to their heads. The museum, for its part, said they were just “testing their sprinklers.”

In February? In Utah? Really?
