A similar situation is unfolding in Salt Lake City, where the powers that be are shipping all of the homeless out of the lucrative downtown area and closing the old shelter. Math problem: the old shelter holds 1100 and is always full, the new shelters hold a total of 700. The overflow holds 63.

Almost 100 homeless people froze to death during Utah’s last hellishly cold winter, one on the front doorsteps of a locked church. Tossing almost 400 people out into the cold just as the snows and frigid temperatures are about to arrive seems like a deliberate attempt at a lethal purge. I have written dozens of letters to various members of Utah’s gov, all ignored. Here is my Medium article on the situation:
